Chiang Mai, Thailand — HOKA Chiang Mai Thailand by UTMB®, the largest trail running event in the region, has officially announced the opening of registrations for the 2026 edition. The event will continue its role as an Asia Pacific Major race within the global UTMB® World Series, welcoming runners from around the world to create new memories and push their limits amidst the stunning natural landscapes of Chiang Mai.
Building on the tremendous success of last year’s event, which attracted more than 10,000 runners from 90 countries worldwide (with international participants accounting for 77% of the field), the 2026 edition will once again be staged across two weeks. This aligns with the Thai government’s strategy of promoting long-stay tourism, generating economic activity and sustainable benefits for Chiang Mai Province.
Week 1 (27–29 November 2026)

What’s New for 2026
PAGODA 50 DAY
The race will now start on Saturday, 28 November 2026 at 06:00, moving to Week 1 at Doi Inthanon. The Top 10 Elite finishers and Age Group Winners will earn direct qualification to the OCC World Championships in France.
PAGODA 50 NIGHT
Experience a brand-new night trail race at Doi Inthanon, running towards the iconic Twin Pagodas and arriving at sunrise.

About UTMB® World Series in Thailand
The event was established in 2019 as part of a government initiative to position trail running as a key driver of sports tourism in Thailand. Through collaboration between the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) and other government partners, Thailand acquired the UTMB® licence and expertise to develop world-class trail running events.
These efforts have successfully elevated Chiang Mai Thailand by UTMB® into the global UTMB® World Series as the Asia Pacific Major, making it one of the most significant trail running events in the region.
