As runners crossed the finish line, they were greeted with the sight of a one of a kind chopped charcoal Beetle and our Everyday Athlete basecamp, offering coffee, food, and running supplies.
The Bay2Bay race is a popular race held every year in January, with over 5,000 runners participating this year. We were thrilled to see so many people supporting the event and visiting our Basecamp setup. We were also happy to provide lucky 3 draw prizes to the value of R1000 each including a 4kg Refuel Tub, Chafe Guard ant-chafe and a sports massage.
Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with the success of our pop-up store. We received positive feedback from runners and supporters, with many praising the convenience and the quality of our coffee by @pangspecialitycoffee who was serving @cedarcoffeeroasters seasonal blend.
One runner, said, “I loved the chill zone, it is the perfect place to relax after the race. Usually non club runners have nowhere to sit after a race.”
We’re already looking forward to next year’s Bay2Bay race and the opportunity to open our Basecamp store again. In the meantime, we’ll be working hard to be at other events and races in the near future. We’re grateful for the support of the community and look forward to serving them again.
